My Clean Beauty Faves

Share this post:

I’ve been on a mission to swap over to only using clean beauty products for a while now. Since I only invest in one product at a time, it’s taken me a few years to test what’s on the market and hone in on my favorite non-toxic options. With the exception of my beloved mascara (fine, it’s this one, it’s the best!), I’ve been able to fully embrace going clean with all of my daily-use products.

Here is a round-up of my faves:

1 // I love this brightening face oil which smells like citrus and helps brighten tired skin.

2 // For super dewy, glowing skin, sheer coverage, and SPF 20, this is my daily go-to.

3 // I have this moisturizing lip and cheek balm in #2 French Melon. It’s the sort of your-lips-but-better color that brightens up your whole face, yet doesn’t read as “lipstick” or even “gloss” – just all-natural prettiness.

4 // I use this creamy foaming cleanser day and night. Many clean beauty products won’t lather, so this one is a definite fave!

5 // This is the best multi-tasking soap for the whole family, and you can’t beat the price!

6 // I’m very picky when it comes to lotion, because I’m sensitive to strong scents and hate anything sticky. This citrus body butter is rich and hydrating without being greasy, and smells lovely. Also, a great gift!

Looking to make the switch to clean beauty products in your home? An easy rule of thumb is to steer clear of products that contain Phthalates, Parabens, and synthetic fragrances. You can also check out a full list of ingredients to avoid right here and look up any products in question on the EWG Skin Deep Database.

I’m still on the hunt for a clean conditioner that can stand up to my thick mane, and smells delicious. Taking all the recs!

  1. I’ve switched to Renpure’s shampoo & conditioner. I use the Tea Tree Lemon Sage shampoo and Keratin + Argan conditioner and love both. I’ve noticed that my hair does not get as oily between washes as it used to.

  2. Hi Shira,
We have similar hair (I think) as a matter of fact I went to your hairdresser a couple of times, Mia!
I put on two pairs of readers at once and still cant read the ingredient list for the Aveda dry remedy moisturizing conditioner I use to actually ‘ shampoo’ my hair with every other time I wash my thick curly mane! I like it and I actually really like the smell although I dislike many scented anything’s!

You did a great closet makeover for me a few years ago! Probably due for one at some point when I can actually have you over to my house. The online ones don’t work for me. I end up paying and not using!
    Keep up the good work!
